4. Live Well – Eldercare Living Facility
This meeting took place after a snowfall the previous night. Because of poor road conditions, difficulty of access and a forecast for more freezing weather, it was a very short meeting. The POA attorney was not in attendance, so there was no Executive Session.
If you have not already done so, please read the Board summary found here:
Similar to last month, the comments below are in addition to that summary:
1. Lift Station Odor
There was one very important point made in the Board’s summary, and it is worth mentioning again in case anybody missed it. Apparently, Aqua takes note of the number of calls it receives from different residents. Therefore, if you experience the bad smell that occasionally comes from a lift station, it is better to call Aqua directly. Their number is (877) 987-2782.
If Aqua receives 25 separate calls complaining about the odor, it will have more effect than one call from the POA referring to 25 complaints.
2. Marketing Committee
As noted last month, the Board has created a new Marketing Committee which is separate from the Realtor Relations Committee. You may find it worthwhile reviewing a summary of this new committee’s goals and objectives. It can be found here: Marketing Initiative
It appears the Board intends to use property values to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. As proposed, this would involve not only measuring the movement of property values in our community but also comparing values in GC to values in other specific benchmark communities.
3. Realtor Relations Committee
I have attached the most recent minutes of this committee. On page 2, you will find market data on home sales that may be of interest: Realtor Relations Minutes
4. Assisted Living Facility
Because the meeting was so short, there was no significant discussion of the proposed assisted living facility (“Live Well”) that would be located in the club cottages. I believe it will come up at the next meeting and that the Board will provide further information to property owners; so as to allow them to form an opinion on the concept.
